I was reading through the HIV chapter in Modi's Medical Jurisprudence text book and I found that there had been incidents where HIV patients were punished for marrying. ( may be I misinterpreted it ) I was really confused after reading it.

Can someone tell me what is the current status in India regarding HIv patients right to marry?

A person with a venereal disease is not eligible for marriage.

It is still debated whether to include HIV / AIDS as veneral disease or not.

So the answer for the question is not crystal clear
